Wednesday 15 July was a special day for our company. The position of the President of the Board of Directors of DARCO has been taken over by Mr. Łukasz Darłak – the previous Vice President of the Board, replacing Mr. Józef Darłak – the President and founder of DARCO. On 31 July, a symbolic handover of the “First Key to the Company” took place. The outgoing position of the President together with the key passed on his wishes to his successor: “I give you the first key to the company. May it become a symbol of success and realization of the assumed goals under your leadership”. Mr. Józef Darłak has been the President of DARCO since 1992. Mr. Łukasz Darłak has been the Vice President of the Board since 2003.

“Fireplace and stove guarantee your family’s energy security” is a slogan to influence the Government’s decision to introduce restrictions and bans on burning wood in the fireplace or boiler. DARCO joins the action. In many European Union countries, wood is treated as a renewable energy source. In Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Norway, burning high-grade wood in a fireplace or boiler is considered environmentally friendly. In Poland, bans and restrictions on burning wood in stoves are introduced. We encourage you to sign the petition which aims to make the authorities aware of the advantages of heating with this type of fuel and to indicate the negative consequences of the ban on burning wood in a fireplace or boiler. HTS Ventilation Hurtwonia nominated our company to take part in #GaszynChallenge – an action whose rules are very simple: people or companies nominated to play must do 10 push-ups or 10 squats. If they perform the exercise, they pay a minimum of 5 PLN, if someone is unable to meet the challenge, they pay a minimum of 10 PLN to the account of a selected child in need. The nominees have 48 hours to complete the task and should nominate at least 3 persons/companies – You can break the rules, but only upwards: more pumps and more zlotys! Gaszyn is a village located between Praszka and Wielun, just outside the Opole region. Volunteer firefighters from this village invented an action with pumps to help seriously ill Wojtek Howis. The 1.5-year-old Wojtek suffers from SMA (type I spinal muscular atrophy). The action has spread all over the Internet and now, under the #gaszynchallange action, various companies and organizations support selected collections on #siepaga and encourage to collect money for children suffering from this disease. The only chance for these children is to be treated with the innovative drug Zongelsma, which without any exaggeration is called the world’s most expensive drug. The cost of the drug therapy is 9-10 million PLN!

DARCO took up the challenge and a group of employees did the exercises, and the collected amount went to the foundation’s account to help Antonina Popławska in her fight against SMA. We would like to invite you to the world’s largest event dedicated to wood heating – the PROGETTO FUOCO Fair in Verona, Italy.

The 12th edition of the event will take place from 19th to 22nd February. Almost 800 exhibitors will present themselves on 115,000 m2 and the event will be visited by over 75,000 visitors.
